Solar charger for your cell phone: a green pick

With growing awareness about the environment, everyone is putting their best foot forward to do something for Mother Earth. And if you want to contribute your bit towards the cause, use solar chargers for your mobile phone. Solar battery chargers will offer you a great deal of flexibility and has several other benefits.

To charge your mobile phone with a solar charger you will have to take out the battery of your phone and read the power rating of the battery. Your solar charger should have an appropriate connector to your phone. However most of the solar chargers have adapters that fit all the brands.

To calculate how long you need to charge the battery of your phone, divide the watt rating of your charger by the voltage. A battery of 1500 MAH means 1.5 amperes is stored. This means that if you want full charge, you will need to charge your mobile phone for about 9 hours.

Why solar chargers are good for you

In today’s world, when global warming has been very big an issue, every big firm relating to appliances is looking to develop gadgets which can run using alternative sources of energy. These days, even there are cell phone chargers available in the market, which run on solar energy. Innovation is important in today’s life in order to bring in these minute changes to better the coming times.

Solar chargers have evolved over the past couple of years. The best part is, you can charge your cell phone anywhere you want, as you don’t need a plug point. So, you no more have to worry about your battery draining out. Companies are currently researching on various other appliances to have chargeable options through solar energy.

Solar chargers and their usage have been increasing day by day and are well accepted. So, next time you want to charge your cell phone or batteries think green, go green!

How Solar Panels Work

The main work of solar panels is to convert energy gotten from the sun into electrical energy. For this to be possible, solar panels are made from special semiconductors. These conductors are made from silicon atoms. This is because silicon helps to get the needed photons.

The process involved here is that loose electrons will be knocked off once the sun’s photons strike silicon atoms. This will then create an electronic field with the movements of the electrons. There is usually a wire in the N-layer that directs all the free electrons into their respective areas. Those electrons with energy otherwise known as electric current will continue flowing to produce the desired results as long as the sun shines.

This process will continue rotating like this as long as the sun is up. The electrons will move from the N-layer and back to the P-layer as long as the sun shines. It is similar to a water cycle.
